Meditations on Ecclesiastes
Short Visual Poem
16mm Film

Inspired by the mysterious ruminations found in the book of Ecclesiastes, Meditations on Ecclesiastes is a visual poem evoking the ambiguity, despair, and profound virtues therein contained.
Narrated by a rugged, modern-day Teacher reading his thoughts directly from the book, the film explores what it is to be “chasing after the wind”. The sun rises and the sun sets, the strivings of a man and a woman flash before our eyes, and others realize their place in this world is not what they originally thought. All the while, the stream continues flowing.
Meditations on Ecclesiastes is a production of Providence Artists Initiative and was filmed in Pennsylvania.
